Pekka Kana 2 Guide

Pekka Kana 2 is a classic 2D platformer where you play as Pekka the rooster.

This Xbox dev mode build supports music, zipped custom map packs and 1440p/4K output.

What You Need​

  • The Pekka Kana 2 .msix
  • The dependency package included with the release

Installing​

Install the .msix and the dependency package from the release.

If you intend to install custom episodes, once installed, launch the game once so it can create its LocalState folder.

Saves and Settings​

Saves, settings, logs and custom episodes are stored here:

PekkaKana2/LocalState/

Custom Maps​

Custom map packs/episodes should stay zipped.

Place the ZIP files here:

PekkaKana2/LocalState/mapstore/

Do not extract the map packs yourself. The game can read them as ZIP files.

Controls​

The game supports controller input.

A few useful notes:

  • in-game movement uses left stick or D-pad
  • menus use D-pad
  • the map cursor uses left stick
  • controls can be remapped
  • rumble works, but it needs to be enabled in Controls

Warning​

  • Some levels and custom content may include flashing lights, screen shake or strong motion effects.
